The RUT986 is a ruggedised industrial LTE Cat 4 router built for SCADA, energy, utilities, and industrial IoT deployments requiring global cellular connectivity. Powered by a Telit modem with coverage across 18 LTE bands including Band 28 (APT 700) for Australian and New Zealand networks it supports dual SIM slots plus an integrated eSIM with up to 7 profiles, automatic WAN failover, and load balancing. RS232/RS485 serial interfaces, multi-constellation GNSS, and a comprehensive industrial protocol stack including Modbus TCP/RTU, DNP3, OPC UA, and BACnet make it a complete solution for critical field deployments.

Running RutOS (OpenWRT-based), the RUT986 supports a full VPN suite (OpenVPN, WireGuard, IPsec), zero-touch deployment, and centralised remote management via Teltonika RMS. Micro SD local data logging ensures continuity during cellular outages, while the IP30-rated aluminium enclosure handles operating temperatures from -40C to +65C.
